On Sunday, November 1, 14 volunteers from the Williamsburg Chapter, NSDAR, assisted with the activities at Berkeley Plantation's annual First Thanksgiving Day festivities. Dressed in 18th-century attire, the volunteers did a multitude of jobs including meet and greet, dipping candles, corn husk doll making and so on. At day's end the staff at Berkeley provided a lovely dinner for the Board of Directors and DAR volunteers. In spite of the "English" like weather, the crowds swelled to over 1,000.
