The Wilbert M. Wallace Scholarship Foundation will accept applications for its 2016 scholarships through March 31. The scholarships are available to eligible 2016 high school graduates in York and James City counties and in the City of Williamsburg. Basic qualification requirements are financial need, grade point average of at least a "C", involvement in community, church and school activities, and plans to attend a two- or four-year college. The late Wilbert M. Wallace was an instructor and administrator in the York County School System for 30-plus years. The scholarship foundation was established in 1990 by one of Wallace's former students. The Wilbert M. Wallace Foundation will celebrate is 26th Anniversary in October.
