On Saturday, October 15th, at 10:00 am, Dr. Shawn Dash, entomologist and biologist from Hampton University, will discuss the evolution of plant and insect communities while exploring pollination, herbivory, hyperparasites, and plant defenses. Dr. Dash, who grew up in Baltimore, Maryland, began collecting and studying specimens from the natural world at a very early age. He has continued in the scientific field through three graduate degrees and currently is working at Hampton University in the Department of Biological Sciences. This event will be held at the Freedom Park Interpretive Center and is part of the Learn and Grow Educational Series sponsored by the Williamsburg Botanical Garden. The program is free, although a $5.00 donation to help the Garden grow is appreciated. For more information, contact Shawn at 757-727-5031 or email him at firstname.lastname@example.org.
