On the weekend of September 24th and 25th, Endview Plantation in Newport News will host a Revolutionary War Reenactment depicting events and battles associated with the 1781 Siege of Yorktown. Activities include guided tours, military and civilian demonstrations, and access to Endview's 1769 historic house and newly opened nature trail.
A special feature will be the presence of author and historical interpreter John Koopman III portraying General George Washington as well as a replica of Washington's headquarters tent where the General would have worked, slept, and ate during his military campaign. Koopman has portrayed General Washington in National Parks and historic sites throughout the East Coast and is the author of George Washington at War-1776. He has appeared in film and television productions for various media outlets including the History Channel.
Admission to the Reenactment is $9.00 on Saturday the 24th and $8:00 on Sunday the 25th. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
