Fall Institute open to laypersons as well as clergy

The Tri-County Pastors' Council will sponsor its annual Fall Institute on Monday, Sept. 12, through Thursday, Sept. 15, at St. John Baptist Church, 1397 Penniman Rd. This year's theme is "Reaching, Teaching, and Making Disciples for Christ," based on Scripture from Matthew 28:18-20.
Several classes will be offered to laypersons as well as clergy, including:
* "How Do We Teach in the Church?" taught by Dr. Brenda Christian;
* "How to Reach Youths," the Rev. Ronald Ellis;
* "How to Be a Great Associate," Dr. Thomas Shields Sr.;
* "Leadership Training for Leaders," Dr. Walter Parrish;
* "Ministry Through Technology," Mr. Carl Bagby;
* "21st Century Methods of Evangelism," the Rev. Alvin O'Neal;
* "The Language of Prayer," the Rev. Wilnette "Cookie" James;
* "Music Ministry in the 21st Century."
Classes will run 6-8:30 p.m., with registration at 5 p.m. Materials and refreshments are included. For more information, call St. John at 229-0759.
