Francis Makemie, the 17th century clergyman who was the founder of Presbyterianism in America, will be the "guest preacher" at Yorkminster Presbyterian Church's Sunday worship service, 9:45 a.m. on Sept. 17. Makemie will be portrayed by Anthony Burcher, a professional historical interpreter and storyteller. Following the service Yorkminster will hold its annual Fall Festival on the church grounds, with food, games, and a bounce house and water slide, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. There will be information about upcoming small-group opportunities and Sunday School classes for all ages.
