Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast (GSCCC) has been awarded a $2,778 grant from the Williamsburg Community Foundation. GSCCC was one of seven organizations to receive a community endowment grant during the Grant Award Luncheon hosted by the Williamsburg Community Foundation on April 19 at Ford's Colony Country Club in Williamsburg.
The council will be using the grant funds to support renovations at Camp Skimino, a property in Williamsburg used throughout the year by Girl Scouts. The facility is also rented by members of the public for special occasions, such as weddings, or for business meetings or retreats. Renovations will include making improvements to a campsite on the property that will involve connecting water service, repairing tent platforms and placing electric connections underground.
The Williamsburg Community Foundation connects people who care with causes that matter in the community. The Williamsburg Community Foundation has provided more than $5.6 million in grants and scholarships to support local residents.
