G.W.A.V.A. members meet at ReStore

Greater Williamsburg Association for Volunteer Administration (G.W.A.V.A.) members recently met at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. ReStore volunteer coordinators and G.W.A.V.A. members Kristin Erickson and Diane Kieffaber hosted the meeting.
Members met to discuss different volunteer data management techniques and programs. Following discussion and announcements, the group toured the ReStore facilities. They learned that many volunteers support ReStore, carefully preparing donations for sale. Members also learned about the rigorous application for approval for a recipient of a Habitat for Humanity home.
G.W.A.V.A. provides administrators of volunteer services with opportunities to further a career in volunteer administration, improve skills, enhance professionalism, and to exchange ideas and information. Additionally G.W.A.V.A. broadens community awareness of volunteerism and encourages involvement of volunteers in community service organizations, agencies, and institutions.
