Herb Society Open Meeting - May 9

The Colonial Triangle Unit of the Herb Society will feature a presentation, "Roses, Past and Present" by Laurie McMinn at its open meeting on Tuesday, May 9. Ms. McMinn, a Certified Horticulturist, is on the staff of Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden where she maintains the roses and teaches Master Gardener training. Previously, she was Historic Grounds Supervisor at Old City Cemetery in Lynchburg, VA where she maintained several hundred antique rose cultivars dating back to the 1500s and managed the 27 acre property.

Ms McMinn will have some surprising facts about the herbal uses through the ages. Their use goes back much farther than any of us have thought. We will learn some surprising things from her!
The meeting will be held at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 7479 Richmond Rd., in Norge beginning at 1 PM and is free of charge. For more information, contact Mandy Baldridge at 757-645-4039.
