Inaugural Piano Concert in Norge

Our Saviour's Lutheran Church will celebrate the purchase of a Boston 6'4" grand piano with a concert on Sunday, April 24 2016, at 3:00 p.m. Guest artists Mark Biondolillo and Benjamin Garner will offer a rich program including piano solos and duets with the church organ. Mark Biondolillo is Director of Music and Organist at First United Methodist Church in Foxhill. An Air Force veteran, he toured Europe and Africa with the Glenn Miller Band, and has performed extensively for European radio, before transferring to Langley AFB and working in Hampton. Benjamin Garner is a pianist, composer, and educator, who hails from VCU and North Carolina School of the Arts. He has performed in New York City and across the East Coast. He currently serves at Hampton University and Old Dominion University as adjunct faculty. Our Saviour's raised funds for the piano since 2015, and received donations from community groups and individuals. The piano was from the estate of Millie Andrews Young who actively supported music education in Eastern Virginia, and was a sought after concert artist and accompanist. All are welcome to this celebratory concert at Our Saviour's Church, 7479 Richmond Road, Williamsburg/Norge; reception will follow.
