Irish dance studio celebrates first anniversary!

January 9, 2018 (Williamsburg, VA) - Williamsburg Irish dance studio, Rose & Sword Academy of Irish Dance, will be celebrating their first anniversary on Saturday, January 20. The studio will be hosting an Open House that day from 1-4 pm for any interested community members to visit and learn more about Irish dance. Fusion Fighters are a modern Irish dance company that melds traditional Irish dance with other dance forms including tap, body percussion, and contemporary.

Rose & Sword Academy's first year of operation has been full of opportunities for their students. Dancers can often be seen performing at Williamsburg's 2nd Sundays Art & Music Festival. In addition, the studio has performed at numerous area retirement communities and held its first annual recital in June. In July, Rose & Sword hosted a workshop with international Irish dance sensation Fusion Fighters. Rose & Sword Academy also had several dancers compete and place in the top 5 at the World Irish Dance Association US Open competition in July in Bethesda, Maryland.

Rose & Sword Academy offers Irish dance classes for students ages 3 to adult. The studio offers special daytime classes for homeschooled students. Dancers compete through the World Irish Dance Association (WIDA) at regional, national and international competitions. The Williamsburg studio is located at 3715 Strawberry Plains Rd. Suite 6, Williamsburg, Virginia 23188. For more information, please visit their website at www.RoseAndSwordAcademy.com or call Kathy Nelson at 757-253-2437.
