James City Lion recognized with Melvin Jones Fellowship

Lion Don Butts was recently honored with a Melvin Jones Fellowship (MJF) for his outstanding work in furthering sight and diabetes outreach to the less fortunate in the Greater Williamsburg community. A MJF, which was established in 1973, requires a donation of $1,000 to the Lions Club International Foundation to help fund their humanitarian work. This donation was made by the JC Lions Club. Shown from left with Butts are the JC Lions Club previous MJF awardees: Lions Bob Gordon, Phil Merrick, Merv Frantz, Lewis Harris, Dave Hartsough and Pam Lundberg. Club member Lion Jack Reitz (not pictured) is also a Melvin Jones Fellow.
