James City Lions clean up Monticello Avenue

In sub-freezing weather, James City Lions prepare to go to work picking up debris along Monticello Avenue between News Road and Compton. This is a part of the VDOT Adopt-a-Highway program. While Lions mission focus is sight, hearing and diabetes, this project is one more way that they reach out to improve the community. Pictured (l-r) are Lions Matt Mattingly (co-organizer), Larry Bartholomew, Mike Carr, Steve Silvasy, Steve Jasper and Jim McBriarty (co-organizer). Not pictured, but assisting in the clean-up effort was Lion Dean Risseeuw.
