James City Lions hold "White Cane Days" fundraiser

Thirty-four Lion volunteers worked 80 hours recently soliciting donations during their semi-annual White Cane Days fundraiser. The white cane is symbolic of the Lions commitment to those in our community needing eye examinations and glasses. Pictured in front of Farm Fresh-Five Forks are (l-r) Lion Jack Trotter (3nd Vice President), contributor Virnest Wilson, and Lion Steve Gohn. Another White Cane Days fundraiser will be held at Belks (Monticello Ave) on May 13th. The JC Lions Club wishes to express sincere appreciation to Panera Bread-Newtown, Harris Teeter-Lightfoot, Farm Fresh-Five Forks and Farm Fresh-Norge as well as the generous community contributors for supporting this fund-raiser.
