On November 3, 2017, James City Lions provided a lunch for 33 individuals who came to the Greater Williamsburg Community Kitchen (GWCK). The Lions procured, prepared and served a salad, roasted pork loin with mashed potatoes and beans, and cake and ice cream for dessert. This is a new initiative for the James City Lions Club. They plan to assist GWCK with the lunch program every 6 weeks. Hunger relief is one more way that Lions serve the community beyond their core missions of sight, hearing and diabetes.
