Eight James City Lions members recently toured the Lions Medical Eye Bank (LMEB) and Research Center of Eastern Virginia to gain a better understanding of a key Lions mission-sight. LMEB, a not-for-profit organization, provides people the opportunity to donate eye tissue, health care professionals the means to end blindness, and patients the hope of clearly seeing again. Lion Tucker Casanova (Lions District 24-D Governor), who is an employee of LMEB, is shown briefing the group. LMEB is one of the largest eye banks in the country having received close to 1000 donated eyes last year.
