FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Tidewater Physical Therapy is pleased to announce it has named Jessi Voltin, PT, DPT, Cert. MDT, Clinical Director of its Norge location near Williamsburg, Va.

"I take a very personal approach to treatment in the clinic," Voltin said. "I enjoy getting to know each patient, learning the best ways to motivate them through their rehabilitation, and am looking forward to meeting new patients here in Norge."

Voltin joined Tidewater Physical Therapy in 2011 as a clinician working out of the Williamsburg clinic near New Town. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in 2007 from Virginia Tech and her Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2011 from the Medical University of South Carolina.

She was attracted to Tidewater Physical Therapy's team immediately because, she said, "I was looking for a clinic with strong community ties. Tidewater Physical Therapy participates in countless community events and has strong relationships with physicians, schools and groups throughout the Tidewater area. I also wanted to work with a company that embraced and supported continuing education."

Voltin recently became certified in the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis (MDT).

Voltin also said she was attracted to Tidewater Physical Therapy's culture and belief that all clinicians should "treat the patient as a whole and not just as a diagnosis. They care about the entire person here and that's evident in all that we do."

At the Norge clinic, Voltin and her clinical team feature a balance and fall prevention program as well as provide comprehensive physical therapy services.

And that suits Voltin well.

"I enjoy treating all types of patients of all ages for different reasons," Voltin said, adding that it includes "athletes because I played sports and understand the importance of efficient and effective rehabilitation. I also enjoy treating middle age and older adults because I admire their desire to continue to have an active lifestyle."

In the coming months, Voltin said she's looking forward to getting more involved in the local school systems. Working with coaches, athletic directors and athletes on proper lifting techniques and signs of back pain in their student populations is something in which she feels passionate. She also looks forward to getting to know more members of the older adult population to assist them in achieving an active way of life.

Voltin lives in Williamsburg with her husband.
