Williamsburg, Va. - Saturday, September 10 the 8th annual Karene O'Hare Memorial Run for Ovarian Cancer, in partnership with the Williamsburg Community Foundation, will take place at New Quarter Park in Williamsburg. A one mile fun run/walk begins at 8:30 a.m. and an 8K run/walk at 9:00 a.m. Registration is $35 and a guaranteed T-shirt will be given to the first 200 registrants.
Karene O'Hare was diagnosed and died from ovarian cancer on October 9, 2008. Ovarian cancer is the deadliest of all gynecological cancers. Her family established the run/walk to help other women fight this menacing disease. To date proceeds from the annual run total $129,000 and have been split between the Olde Towne Medical & Dental Center and the Lackey Free Clinic.
