Kayaking on Queen's Creek

Bring your own kayak or canoe to New Quarter Park on third Saturdays, June 18, July 16, August 20, September 17 and October 15, for out-and-back paddling on beautiful Queen's Creek. Relax while eco-guides lead you to see Ospreys, Egrets, Great Blue Herons, Bald Eagles, other animals and wetland plants. The program is offered by York County Parks, Recreation and Tourism in cooperation with Chesapeake Experience. Arrive at 9 a.m., launch by 9:30. The paddle will last about two and a half hours with take-out around noon. The program is free with your own kayak or canoe and open to the public. Rentals (kayak, paddle, and life vest) are available for $30 from Chesapeake Experience by calling 757-259-6859 or making a reservation at http://chesapeakeexperience.org/experience/Queens.htm no later than 24 hours before the Saturday paddle. New Quarter Park is located at 1000 Lakeshead Drive near the Queen's Lake neighborhood.
