Williamsburg Presbyterian Church will host the annual St. Andrew's Society of Williamsburg "Kirkin' o' the Tartans". If you are Scottish and have a family tartan you would like to have blessed, wear or bring your tartan to the 11am worship service on November 13. This modern custom was started by the Rev. Peter Marshall at the New York Avenue Presbyterian Church in Washington, DC in 1941. The common thread in each of the thousands of services conducted each year in all parts of the country is the opportunity to dedicate to God, the tartan symbol of unwavering loyalty, steadfast faith, and regard for family.
