Kiwanis learns about making distilled spirits

Dr. William (Bill) Dodson D.M.D, owner of The Williamsburg Distillery, recently presented a program to the Kiwanis Club of Colonial Capital about the production of distilled spirits like Bourbon, Rum and Genever Gin. Dr. Dodson explained the processes that are used to make all kinds of alcoholic beverages and explained how the flavors vary depending on the grains used in their production, the water that is used, the blending and the containers used in the aging of the product. Pictured above are Dodson and Club President Pete Webster.
