Landing Day Commemoration at Jamestown

Jamestowne Society members are descended from early settlers who lived on Jamestown Island or held colonial government positions in Jamestown, Virginia prior to 1700. To commemorate Landing Day, the day the first English settlers arrived at Jamestown on May 13, 1607, members of the Jamestown Society and the Jamestown Rediscovery Foundation gathered at the Island's Memorial Church. Partnering over many years, Jamestowne Society members have made significant contributions in support of ongoing archaeology at Jamestown as well as the preservation of the 17th-century church tower. Pictured are Dr. William Kelso, director of research at Jamestown, Ms. Bonnie Hofmeyer, executive director of the Jamestowne Society, Mr. Roger Sizemore of the Jamestowne Society, and Dr. James Horn, President and COO of the Jamestown Rediscovery Foundation.
