Lexi Mahler Organizes Fundraiser for Dream Catchers

Lexi Mahler, an avid rider, knows that horses help people with autism. Lexi combined her love of horses and her interest in helping people with autism into her Gloucester High School Senior Project. With the assistance of Carolyn Vavala, Lexi planned a trail ride to raise money to support Dream Catchers at the Cori Sikich Therapeutic Riding Center. Lexi's fundraising resulted in a check for $1,424 being presented to Nancy Paschall, Executive Director for Dream Catchers. Lexi said that she learned valuable lessons while fundraising. According to Lexi, "It is not the events that raise money, it is having people who believe in your cause being ambassadors for the nonprofit and being willing to ask. People gave money because they believe in me and I believe in Dream Catchers".
