Lions assist Angels of Mercy Medical Clinic

James City Lions recently donated $500 to the Angels of Mercy Clinic in Norge. Jeff Black, Director, is shown receiving the donation from Lion Mike Jaskowiak. A matching donation is also being provided by Lions District 24D Charity Foundation. Since 2013, Lions and the clinic have provided pre-diabetes screenings in the Greater Williamsburg community. Those patients identified with pre-diabetes or Type 2 are offered diabetes self-management support in the clinic, and many of these patients currently remain active in the clinic's Diabetes Prevention Program. Angels of Mercy Clinic was Virginia's first applicant organization to achieve the Center for Disease Control's full recognition as a participant in their national Diabetes Prevention Program.
