The Classic Cruisers Car Club of Yorktown raised $2,600 for the Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughters (CHKD) at their annual 4th of July Car Show held at Shortly's Diners in Williamsburg. Almost 150 classic, show, hot rod, sports and late model vehicles participated and were on display. Hundreds of local residents and visitors to the Historic Triangle added this venue to their 4th of July activities. Co chairs of the event were Larry and Cathy Munk of Queens Lake and Vince and Cheryl Filippone of Edgehill, with many of the car club members registering participants, assisting in parking, and fundraising -with Vickie Allen of Newport News selling thousands of tickets for the 50/50 raffle. Gil Short of Shorty's donated the trophies. For more information on the club visit www.ccccva.com
