Local high school student chosen to attend Perry Outreach Program

On Saturday, February 25th, Aubree Neenan, a junior at Lafayette High School, attended the Perry Outreach Program at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC. This event is run by the Perry Initiative in partnership with medical centers across the country. Their mission is to inspire young women to pursue careers in Orthopedic Surgery and Engineering. During the day long program, Aubree and the other participants performed mock Orthopedic surgeries and conducted biomechanical engineering experiments. They also heard from prominent women engineers and surgeons in the field. Aubree was chosen among a large pool of applicants based on the quality of the essays that she submitted.
