At the Sigma Kappa Sorority National Convention In Chicago, local Sigma Kappa Alumnae chapter received the Frances Mann Hall award for the most improved alumnae chapter where Sigma Kappa is not on campus.
The announcement says, "This alumnae chapter is small but mighty.They do membership drives including email blasts and putting an announcement in the community section of the local newspaper. They also have monthly luncheons, each with a different focus to meet the members' needs, including a technology chat where they taught each other to use new technologies.
They collected donations for a community wide garage sale and donated the profits to the Sigma Kappa Foundation
The group also received a Gerontology Service Award.This award includes a donation to the Williamsburg Alzheimer's Association. Linda Icenhour, and Roma Maycock are pictured. with one of the awards. Interested Sigma Kappa's may call Linda at 258- 0460 for more information.
