Local Student Graduates from Saint Mary's School

Raleigh, NC-Emma Wason, daughter of Jane and Wally Wason of Williamsburg , VA. graduated with from Saint Mary's School in Raleigh, N.C., on Sunday, May 17. Miss Wason was among 75 High school seniors receiving diplomas from Head of School Monica M. Gillespie, PH. D., during Saint Mary's 173rd year commencement exercises held in the school's oak grove, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Saint Mary's alumna, Mary Hinton, Ph.D., president of the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, Minn.,was the commencement speaker.

Saint Mary's School in Raleigh, N.C., is an independent, Episcopal, college-preparatory, boarding and day school, dedicated to academic excellence and personal achievement for young women in grades 9-12. Founded in 1842, Saint Mary's is the fourth-oldest girls boarding and day school in the nation.
