Our Saviour's Lutheran Church celebrated "12th Night" with a madrigal feast and a ceremonial burning of the greens on Sunday evening, Jan 3. The church enjoyed the skills of the Westenberger family players, who presented "George and the Dragon," plus Medieval dancing led by Marj Gottschalk-Trone, and carols and songs by the church's choir and friends. Barry Trott was court minstrel, playing early music, and the feast was catered by Custom Culinary Connections of Lanexa. The evening ended with a sizeable bonfire in the church lot, as members burned all the Christmas greens (including all wreaths and the church Christmas tree). Proceeds from this event benefitted OSLC's Motel Ministry, a feeding program bringing meals to the area's "homeless" residents that live in transient lodgings in local motels.
