Mayor Reads Proclamation on Constitution Day

The Honorable Paul Frieling, Mayor, City of Williamsburg, joined the Williamsburg Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, along with Junior American Citizens and essay winners at the annual Constitution Day activities. Marie JaKob, Chairman, Joni Stevens, Commemorative Events Chair and Mary Sue Dougherty, Junior American Citizen Chair organized a wonderful commemoration at the College of William and Mary's Wren Building. As the Spotswood Society members rang the Chapel bell, youngsters chimed in with hand bells. The bells rang 249 times, one for each year since the Constitution was signed. One of the highlights of the day was the reading of a Proclamation by Mayor Frieling.
