In a program directed at engaging youngsters in learning about a variety of musical instruments, the Virginia Symphony Orchestra presented a program at the Williamsburg library which focused on brass instruments. Four VSO musicians formed a brass quartet made up of the trumpet, trombone, French horn and tuba. The musicians spoke about the design of their instruments and how they are used to produce distinct sounds, played several selections, and answered questions. This was followed by an "instrument petting zoo'" in which the children could handle both brass and string instruments.
