NARFE Supports Alzheimer's Research

The Williamsburg Chapter #685 of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) met recently for their monthly luncheon at the Clarion Hotel. Pictured left to right: Marcelline St. Pierre, 1st Vice-President, Douglas Panto, Education and Family Service Coordinator, Alzheimer's Association and Ruth Fenstermaker, 2nd Vice-President.

Mr. Panto works in the Southeastern Virginia Chapter of the association and gave an informative and helpful presentation about the health and family challenges surrounding dementia and Alzheimer's.

Since 1985, NARFE members nationwide have played a major role in seeking a cure for Alzheimer's disease. NARFE members have donated more than 11 million dollars to a special fund of which 100% is used for Alzheimer's research.

The local chapter of NARFE #685 meets the second Tuesday of the month at the Clarion Hotel on York Street at 11:30 am. In December the chapter will host a holiday dinner in lieu of a luncheon.
