Sam Frye Earns Eagle Scout

Sam Frye, son of Chris and Karen Frye, was awarded his Eagle Scout Rank at a Court of Honor ceremony last this month highlighting his 11 years as either a Cub or Boy Scout. Sam's Eagle project was refurbishing the Stonehouse Elementary School's 100 X 100 foot blacktop playground and painting new games. Sam led 15 other Scouts and adults, working over a total 65 hours, over the course of several weekends to complete this project. Sam has held several Scout leadership positions in Troop 300 to include Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Troop Guide and Order of the Arrow (BSA Honor Society) Chapter Chief. Sam was fortunate to attend two BSA High Adventure Programs: Sea Base in the Florida Keys in 2014 and Northern Tier at Minnesota's Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in 2015. Additionally, Sam has been fully engaged outside Boy Scouts as a member of the Colonial Williamsburg Fife and Drum Corps for eight years; serving as a Fife Instructor the past two. Sam, a senior at Warhill High School, is also nearing completion of his private pilot's license in pursuit of an aviation career. King of Glory Lutheran Church proudly sponsors Troop 300.
