Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center awarded Magnet certification

Rotary Club of Williamsburg's member David Masterson hosted Sentara nurse executive VP Donna Wilmoth & Cathy Smith, RN,CC,CNS as guest speakers at Rotary's recent business meeting. Wilmoth and Smith addressed the quality of "Patient Care Service" at Sentara. Wilmoth announced that SWRMC recently received recognition from the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) that it had qualified as one of less than 7% of hospitals in the nation to achieve the rigorous "Magnet" certification. The Magnet recognition for SWRMC resulted from a multi-year review by the ANCC of the Center's patient care operational quality. Sentara's Medical Center excelled in patient care, offered an innovation program in nursing practice, and provided an outstanding supportive work environment for nurses. Shown in the photo are Club President Chuck Hobson presenting Smith and Wilmoth with a certificate stating the donation of a children's book to the Williamsburg Regional Library in their honor.
