Soroptimist of Williamsburg club welcomes guest speaker

At the February Soroptimist dinner and business meeting, members welcomed guest speaker Cynthia Calloway. Calloway is the Director of Instructional Advancement at Thomas Nelson Community College. She explained how the monies that the club had donated to the Thomas Nelson emergency fund for the fall semester had helped eight different students. She shared with the chapter how their contribution had made it possible for those young women to continue their education when otherwise they may have had to drop out of school or postpone their education due to hardship. The club voted to donate an additional $2,000 to this Thomas Nelson program for the spring semester. Pictured: Calloway (Left) and Soroptimist President Willie Mae McCracken.
