St. John Baptist Church celebrates 132 years of praise

Saint John Baptist Church will celebrate its 132nd anniversary Sunday, Oct. 23, during two services. At 11 a.m., Deacon Carlon Lassiter, a minister-in-training, will deliver the message, with music by the Gospel Chorus. Dinner will be served afterward. At 3 p.m., the Rev. David Spratley, pastor of Rising Sun Baptist Church, will preach. Music will be provided by the Saint John Sanctuary Choir. Refreshments will follow. Sunday school starts at 9:15 a.m. The lesson topic is "Seeking Continuity and Permanence." Classes are available for ages 3 through adult age. Saint John is at 1397 Penniman Rd., where everyone is welcome.
