Starting the Season Strong

Dreams Gymnastics Center is the newest USA Gymnastics Member Club in the Hampton Roads area. Currently, we are building a state-of-the-art training facility in Toano, VA. Due to officially open the beginning of 2018, we will be the one and only club around that will offer training and competitive groups in all three Olympic disciplines: Artistic Gymnastics (both Junior Olympic and Xcel), Rhythmic Gymnastics, and Trampoline and Tumbling (T&T). In the meantime, our competitive athletes have been practicing in a temporary location in Newport News, VA, since June, 2017.
We could not be prouder of and more thankful for our athletes and families. The long drive and unpredictable interstate traffic each day transporting back and forth to practices has been less than convenient, but together we have prevailed! Despite the minimal equipment in our makeshift gym, our gymnasts have even managed to return home from our first two meets with lots of gold!
The first weekend in November of 2017, Dreams' Trampoline and Tumbling (T&T) athletes traveled to Maryland and competed at Westminster School of Gymnastics & Cheer. This was Dreams Gym's FIRST EVER competition! Seven Dreams gymnasts competed in a total of 17 events. Each brought home a gold medal and together the team brought home FOURTEEN 1st-3rd place medals, plus lots of ribbons! Some of our athletes were even first time competitors! Our gymnasts, Ayanna and Evan Moore, Naomi McGinnis, Alyssia Trost, Madison Walk, Martin Yordanov, and Desislava Yordanova competed alongside a NJ team that was coached by a former 6-time USA National Team Member in Tumbling, World Champion (with his team) in 1996, and Silver Medalist in 1997. Coaches and gymnasts all came together that weekend for the love of the sport and it was a great way to kick of our competitive season!
At Dreams Gymnastics Center, we work hard and diligently to teach each athlete lifelong skills in a safe and rewarding environment. We understand how children learn best - from example, discipline and repetition. By combining the discipline and training techniques of the east with the business strengths and strategies of the west, we strive to create an atmosphere where gymnasts are encouraged to dream, believe and achieve.
The weekend of November 10-12, 2017, our Dreams Team traveled to South Carolina to attend the 10th annual Crown of the Carolinas USA Gymnastics Meet. This was our first Artistic meet of the season and it was a huge event with over 2000 gymnasts competing. Our FIRST team trophy and tons of hardware was brought home by our Xcel Silver girls, represented by Sophia Accardi, Elyse Moore, Evelyn Trost and Morgan Walk! FIRST PLACE All Around (Madeline Sipe) and 2nd place All Around (Madison Walk) were won by our gym's only two Level 6 girls! We are so proud to be able to report our achievements thus far!
At Dreams, we enjoy sharing our passion for the sport of gymnastics with others. Dreams Gymnastics Center is dedicated to helping every gymnast, both recreational and competitive, reach his or her full potential. Together we dream big. Together we work hard. Together we have fun!
