Stonehouse Stables IEA Team Ready for Competition

The Stonehouse Stables Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) Equitation Team held an organizational meeting and pool party on September 4th at Stonehouse Stables. The team is composed of Varsity and Junior Varsity riders who are currently enrolled in grades 9 through12, and Futures riders who are currently enrolled in grades 6 through 8. IEA members compete in IEA Rated Shows riding a mount provided by the barn that is hosting the show. Therefore, each show exhibitor will not know what horse they are riding until the morning of each show. To simulate this in practices, Stonehouse IEA coaches assign each member a mount at random for each practice. Team membership is open to outside riders as well as Stonehouse Stables students. Membership in an IEA team can also contribute to lettering in horseback riding as a middle and high school sport.
If you are interested in joining the 2016-17 Stonehouse Stables IEA Equitation Team, please call 757-566-0666 for more information. Only a few slots remain on the team.
