Stop Hunger Now at Walnut Hills Baptist on September 10

Walnut Hills Baptist Church, 1014 Jamestown Road, will sponsor a Stop Hunger Now meal packing on Saturday, September 10 with sessions starting at 8:30 and 10:30. Set up will be on Friday, September 9 at 7:00 p.m. The goal is to pack 25,000 meals over a 4 hour period. Stop Hunger Now provides supplies, and volunteers set up work stations and equipment, pour ingredients into meal bags, weigh and seal the , bags, box, stack and load onto a truck. It is a multi-generational event.

Stop Hunger Now is a nonprofit organization which distributes meals to partnering organizations in developing countries. Each packaged meal includes rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables and a packet of 23 vitamins and minerals. Most meals nourish school age children. Last year, meals packaged by Walnut Hills supported Salesian Missions, an organization serving street children in Cite Soleil, Haiti. This will be Walnut Hill's seventh packing event.
