On Friday, October 7 the Committee invites anyone who is interested to join them for a free tour of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. What a great way to view the exhibits in this amazing museum. Meet at 10:00 am at the Museum. Space is also still available to participate in the Silk Painting workshop on October 21. Mary Swezey, Textile Artist from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, will teach the French technique of Serti (drawing with a liquid resist) to create designs on silk scarf. The workshop will be held at the Greater West Point YMCA from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. Participants should bring their own lunch.

The Visual Arts Committee is inviting members of the community to display their work for viewing by the public in the exhibit area of the Robinson/Olsson auditorium. The All Media Community Art exhibit, will be on display from October 18 to November 15. The art opening will be held on Saturday, October 29 at 6:30 PM prior to our performance by Adam Trent, Illusionist. Participants should deliver their works of painting, mixed media, photography, drawing, collage, or small sculptures by 9:00 AM on October 18 to be displayed. All work must be framed and ready to be hung. This is a great opportunity to show your work!
