Partner on homes during Blitz!
NEWPORT NEWS, VA (June 22, 2016) - Thrivent Financial and Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg will partner together with funding and volunteers to help repair homes in Newport News on Saturday, June 25, 2016 in the Warwick Lawns neighborhood of Newport News. Fifteen home owners have signed up, comprising hundreds of repairs utilizing over 200 volunteers. This is a true partnership between Habitat, Thrivent Financial, Newport News Housing Authority, the City of Newport News and the Warwick Lawns neighborhood association.
"It's inspiring to see Thrivent members and others continuously give of their time and talents to help families in local communities have safe, affordable housing," said Dr. Ron Adolphi, Thrivent Financial Associate for the East Region with offices in Williamsburg. "Our significant partnership with Habitat for Humanity is one way we demonstrate our commitment to living generously."
Thrivent Builds Repairs, during this one day "blitz", provides resources supporting Habitat for Humanity work of repairing existing homes in partnership with families who don't have the resources or ability to make the repairs themselves. Partner families may include senior citizens, veterans, people with disabilities and others needing assistance.
