Toano Kiwanis Ready for Red Nose Day

Kiwanis Club of Toano members are prepared to support National Red Nose Day.
Thursday, May 26 is being celebrated as Red Nose Day, coordinated by the Comic Relief
Fund to support and aid children in poverty conditions in the United States and Internationally.

The Kiwanis Club of Toano serves communities in James City and York Counties.
The group is made up of volunteers dedicated to carrying out the Kiwanis mission of
"changing the world one child and one community at a time".

The local group recently completed it's 9th Annual golf tournament, a major fund raiser
to allow the group to award grants to local organizations and agencies that have an emphasis
to aid and assist childrens' programs.

Grant applications are currently being accepted and are available from Lynda Kleiwerda at
lkleiwerda@aol.com or by calling 757-229-7888. The deadline for submitting applications
is June 10. Grants will be awarded on August 9 by the Kiwanis Club of Toano.
