TVHS Members and Guests Tour Berkeley & Shirley Plantations

On Wednesday, Oct 28, 49 members and guests of the Tidewater Virginia Historical Society (TVHS) visited Berkeley and Shirley Plantations in a special "behind-the-scenes" tour. Julian Charity, historian, Shirley Plantation and Graham Woodlief, direct descendant of Capt. Woodlief, captain of the ship Margaret that arrived at Berkeley in 1619, shared little known facts about each historic site during a lecture held prior to the tour to prepare them for the actual visit. To the delight of everyone, attendees came away with newly learned information.

Don't miss out on these terrific lectures and tours. Lectures are usually complimentary and open to the public; nominal fees do apply to tours. Visit our website at or
