The Rotary Club of Williamsburg had the great privilege of hosting JoAnn Falletta, director of the Virginia Symphony. Her appearance was made possible through the good offices of club member Don Murfee, who is also a member of the Virginia Symphony Board. After a video highlighting her twenty-five years with the Virginia Symphony, Ms. Falletta gave a lively and entertaining talk about the joys of making music and also the challenges she faces as director--a position, she explained, that involves much more than conducting the orchestra. President Chuck Hobson presented Ms. Falletta a certificate noting the donation of a children's book (appropriately music-themed) in her honor to the Williamsburg Regional Library.
