Virginia Watercolor Society presents awards for 2016 exhibition

Virginia Watercolor Society (VWS) held the 37th Annual 2016 VWS exhibition in Gloucester and Mathews counties. The state-wide VWS juried exhibition was held from May 20 through June 25, 2016. Arts on Main and the Bay School Community Arts Center were honored to co-host this highly acclaimed event this year. More than $15,000 in awards were sponsored by the VWS, recurring sponsors, local businesses and individuals. The total number of artists' entries was 442 with 108 artists from around the Commonwealth of Virginia selected to participate in the exhibit. The recipient of the Best in Show and Peoples' Choice award was Holland Wentz Etheridge, pictured with exhibit juror Mel Stabin, a member of the American Watercolor Society and the National Watercolor Society.
