Peter DuBeau, the Virginia Symphony Orchestra's principal tuba player, was the guest of the Virginia Symphony Society of Greater Williamsburg at its February members-only social. Mr. DeBeau joined the Symphony in 1989. He entertained the VSSGW members with a musical interlude, and also spoke about the role of the tuba in a symphony orchestra. The tuba is a relatively young instrument, having been developed in the mid-nineteenth century. Information about the VSSGW, the benefits of membership, and its schedule of events can be found on the VSSGW's web site www.vssgw.com
