David and Susan Goode will be the 2017 honorees at the Virginia Symphony Society of Greater Williamsburg annual gala to be held at the Two Rivers Country Club at Governor's Land on April 22nd . The Goodes, long-time supporters of the arts, have been recognized at the local, state, and national level for their efforts, and financial support, in making the arts accessible to the public. They have loved the Virginia Symphony and encouraged and supported its growth under the leadership of Joann Falletta. Susan is VSO Board Secretary, and the Goodes have sponsored many Symphony perfor-mances over the years. Susan is a trustee of Virginia Wesleyan College where the School of Arts and Humanities was named for her last October. She recently established a Center for Education at the Dewitt Wallace Museum at Colonial Williamsburg, and a performance fund for WHRO public radio and television. David has chaired the Virginia Commission for the Arts and serves as Vice Chair of the Thomas Jefferson Foundation (Monticello). Both were driving forces in the creation of the Virginia Arts Festival and have served as Trustees of the Chrysler Museum of Art.
