Was it freedom of expression, propaganda, or some of each?

At the James City County Rotary Club meeting of November 15th was Dan Malone, a man uniquely qualified to show his rare collection of Soviet-era political poster art, recently on loan to a Russian exhibit at Sweet Briar College. Dan served as a military attaché in Moscow, and he acquired his posters while on assignment there. His experiences and insights into the Soviet Bear were invaluable. Social and political movements are often evidenced by contemporary art, and Dan provided interesting explanations of the statements made by the posters, and some information about the artists themselves.
