The Auxiliary of Sentara Williamsburg is sponsoring "We Should be Dancing" as a new community fundraiser to replace the much loved 4th of July Ice Cream Social. The 53 y/o Auxiliary looked for an event the community would enjoy doing together to support the Auxiliary which provides many patient centered projects at Sentara Williamsburgl such as: Free Mammograms for the uninsured, hand-knit newborn baby caps, age appropriate pediatric gift bags for ER and in-patient children; the Unique Boutique for chemo patients, Holiday tray favors, scholarships for those pursuing a career in healthcare and much more.
"We Should be Dancing" will be staged as a 40's era nightclub, with soft shaded lamps in the middle of white clothed tables for 8, in Miller Halll at the Mason School of Business, 100 Ukrop Way. The very popular, 16 member Williamsburg Classic Swing Orchestra, plus DJ/MC Amanda Buckley, will combine their talents so everyone will say at least once, "THIS IS MY FAVORITE SONG!" We believe every single person has a favorite song that makes them happy, and brings back a memory of dancing to that song. Attendees will have the opportunity to request songs and our "dance hosts" will make sure every lady gets an opportunity to dance. There will be plenty of food and beverages served on the mezzanine level where attendees can take a break and still be part of the "party". Classic dance videos from vintage movies and concerts will be shown on a big screen as the music is being played.
Tickets are $75 pp and tables of eight can be reserved. There is also a Raffle with an opportunity to win one of FOUR GRAND PRIZES- 4 tickets plus parking pass to the Washington Redskins vs Dallas Cowboys Dec. 7 Monday night game in D.C. ---- "Let's Eat Out" over 12 dining certificates to Williamsburg's finest restaurants---an overnight stay at the Great Wolf Lodge in a Family Suite---His and Hers Pairs of Maui Jim Sunglasses. Raffle tickets and Dance tickets are available online at
www.sentarahospitalauxiliary.tix.com or at the Pineapple Gift Shop at Sentara. The Auxiliary is especially grateful to all our sponsors and donors.
