West Point Senior awarded Arts Alive Scholarship

The Board of Directors of Arts Alive, Inc. is proud to announce the winner of the C. Herbert Brown, Jr. Performing Arts Scholarship. The 2016 scholarship is awarded to Willow Pedersen a senior from West Point High School. Willow plans to attend Virginia Tech and minor in music education. Ms. Pedersen has been a student leader in a variety of activities in school such as president of the Chorus Club, President of the Rotary Interact Club and Class President to name a few. She was also selected for All-State Chorus and for VMEA Honors Choir in the state of VA. This $1,000 scholarship was established in memory of founder, president, and director C. Herbert Brown, Jr., and is designed to help graduating high school seniors from the Arts Alive service areas of the Town of West Point, and the counties of King William, New Kent, and King and Queen who plan to major or minor in the performing arts or music education.
